Connecting rods receive some of the highest stress levels of any bottom end engine component. The forces a rod receives when the piston direction reverses from top dead center can exceed 12,000 lbs. in a race application. When you stop and think about how much stress that is, you realize how important a quality connecting rod is for your race engine. Lunati's fully machined I-beam connecting rods are on average, stronger and lighter than competitor's steel connecting rods. Each set is weight matched to +/- 1.5 grams and utilize ARP® cap hardware, providing you with a top of the line connecting rod that can handle most anything you can throw at it.

Ultimate strength and affordability is what the Lunati line of H-beam connecting rods are all about. Lunati rods are forged from aircraft grade 4340 alloy steel forgings...and that is just the beginning. They are then heat treated, stress relieved, shot peened and magnafluxed to ensure the highest level of durability. Each set is weight matched to +/- 1.5 grams and utilize ARP® cap hardware. Ideal for high performance street & mild race engines. Horsepower capability depends on various factors including rpm, poweradders, tuning, etc.

Our Superlight Series of H-Beam rods are designed for engine builds where overall rotating mass is equally important as overall strength. This line of Lunati connecting rods feature an H-beam design forged from 4340 premium quality forging. Special services are then performed to each individual rod including; heat treatment, stress relieving, shot peened and magnafluxing. To give you an idea of the weight difference, a name brand competitor's H-beam rod weighs 660 grams, while a Lunati LS1 superlight rod weighs only 605 grams. On top of that, a Lunati rod is longer (6.125), providing more stroke, and are exceptionally stronger. ARP® cap hardware is used to ensure proper clamping and high rpm security.

The Alecular material used in Lunati bearings allows a high degree of conformability over other race bearings, whether you are use steel or aluminum rods. Imbedability is four times greater than other bearings, plus they will not flake. The fatigue point of Alecular material is 1100 degrees fahrenheit, while babbitt overlay is only 400 degrees fahrenheit. Thickness tolerancing is held (0.0001), making Lunati bearings an excellent choice for road racing, oval track and drag racing. Lunati Alecular racing bearings are chamfered to fit Lunati crankshafts.
